At the beginning of June, I was invited for a staycation at Toronto’s new Hotel X. I realized the only thing better than a staycation is a staycation with your best friend, so I knew I had to invite Tracey along. Since we run a business together, we do spend a lot of time together, but we were so excited to have a night away from work to relax, meet other Toronto bloggers, and have lots of girl talk.
We checked into Hotel X in the afternoon around 4:30 and after exploring our HUGE, beautiful rooms (there was a living room, bedroom and two bathrooms), we set up for a photoshoot (because what else do two Instagrammers do when they take a staycation at a beautiful hotel?). This was actually one of my favourite parts of our stay because we got to hang out in our fluffy robes, get creative and just have fun.
The night started out in the rooftop cocktail bar. The bartenders whipped up fresh, delicious cocktails for us to sip on while we mingled and we got to explore the rooftop patio and pool. The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking, looking over the Lake Ontario waterfront. We snapped some photos, and mingled away! After cocktails, we headed to dinner, where we were served a mouth-watering three-course meal. We sat with a few incredible ladies while we filled our stomaches with amazing food and dessert.
Around 9:30 PM we headed down to their in-house movie theatre to watch Breakfast at Tiffany’s. It’s a spacious theatre with big, comfy theatre seats. We also got individual bags of popcorn (as if we didn’t eat enough already)! I can never resist popcorn, and can you really enjoy a movie without it?
One of the things that really stood out to me was the staff and service. Everyone was so nice and accommodating, and made you feel right at home. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Adele, The Library Hotel Collection’s VP of Sales and Marketing and I’m so excited to announce to you guys that we have some fun projects coming up for when me and Stefan visit Europe this summer! We are beyond grateful and excited, and I can’t wait to share it with you guys!
In the morning we were invited for a yoga class. Unfortunately I had to skip out on it because of a family commitment, but I saw some photos from some of the other girls who went and it looked amazing! We had the continental breakfast before we headed out, and left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. A staycation is a great way to get away without actually getting away. Sometimes you just need a little change of scenery to recharge. And when that change of scenery includes a gorgeous room with a stunning view, rooftop cocktails and a delectable three-course meal shared with your BFF, what could be better?
Have you ever taken a staycation? What did you love most about it? Let me know in the comment section!
A huge thank you to Hotel X for having us for a complimentary stay! All comments and opinions are my own!
