Tomorrow is officially the first day of winter and I can’t get winter travel off my mind. I have a trip to Miami planned with a bunch of my friends and fellow entrepreneurs, and I’m hoping to get to Niagara on the Lake at some point this season. I love the thought of winery hopping in the winter, it’s such a cozy place for a little getaway.
Whenever I travel, I always have a number of essentials I don’t leave the house without. Especially come wintertime, it’s so important that you’re prepared for your trip, whether you’re heading somewhere hot or cold! Fig AAR Packable Jacket
I was recently sent this packable jacket from FIG Clothing and I can’t get enough of it. It’s pretty much an upscale puffer jacket, and I love the gold zip details. It’s super warm and comfy and even has a secure inner passport jacket – perfect for winter travel! AND FIG is a Canadian brand (made in Montreal), which makes me love it even more!
I can’t wait to wear this jacket for my trip to Miami. It’s not the type of jacket you would wear in the dead of winter, but it’s perfect to wear going from a cold to warm climate so you’re not overheating when you get there and you can put it on to warm up when you get back. Oh, and did I mention there’s an internal pocket that transforms into a travel pillow?! SUCH a life saver for any flight, long or short!
Lumiere de Vie Micellar Cleanser
Anyone else a huge fan of micellar cleanser? I found the best one, made by Lumiere de Vie, and it’s ideal for winter travel. It’s easily packable, and since you don’t need to use water with it, it’s so easy to use on-the-go. It gently removes makeup and cleanses your skin when you feel like you need a refresh (which I constantly feel the need for when I’m traveling).
Cozy Sweaters
Cozy sweaters are pretty much all I wear while traveling in the wintertime. There’s something so effortless about throwing on a sweater, a pair of leggings and booties and grabbing a mug of tea for the road. Whenever I’m packing for winter travel (as long as I’m not going somewhere warm) my suitcase is FULL of sweaters! I’ve been making a point of investing in quality and trendy sweaters that I can dress up and down for the season!
A Leather Backpack
I pretty much can’t live without my backpack while traveling, especially in the winter. I’m one of those people who likes to be prepared and pack mitts, water, some granola bars, you name it! I love this burgundy leather backpack I got from Danier a few years ago. It’s super spacious and functional and also looks really chic!
Motives Cosmetics 40fy Lip Balm
My lips get SO dry in the winter and this lip balm is heavenly. It’s the only one I’ve found that really works to heal my dry lips, I can’t go a day without it. I can’t imagine going on a trip without this lip balm, especially if you’re going somewhere cold.
