How to Save on Your Holiday Shopping This Year

I absolutely love this time of year. Christmas movies have started playing on TV, holiday cups are out at Starbucks, cozy sweaters are an every day occurrence and it’s time to think about all the shopping we have to do for the loved ones on our lists! Since this can be an expensive time of year, I thought I’d let you in on one of my best kept secrets for how to save on your holiday shopping!

Shopping for Christmas gifts can be a tad stressful. Not only is it hard on your bank account, visiting malls around the holiday season can be crazy to say the least! But with so many online stores, you don’t even have to leave your house to do your holiday gifting! You can snuggle up with your coziest blanket, lap top, and cup of tea (or perhaps a glass of wine?). That’s my kind of shopping.

Ready to get an early start on your Christmas shopping? Check everyone from your family to your friends off your list by getting your Christmas gifts on a budget! This cheap tip is the best idea I’ve seen! Click through to get in on my shopping secret and save this pin for other savvy shoppers to check out too!

This year I’m doing all my online Christmas shopping through, a virtual mall that has partnered with stores like Sephora, Anthropologie, Club Monaco, Aldo, Apple, Way Fair, Indigo, Coach, Groupon, Shopbop, Nordstrom, Forever 21 and thousands more to give their customers cash back.

How does it work?

The stores use their advertising budgets to dish out money to their customers. You get a kickback when you shop online from their store, as a thank you for shopping with them. Pretty sweet, right? It’s such a life saver, especially at this time of year, when checking everyone off your list can get add some stress to your wallet.

Below, I’ll show you how to create an account and get started getting cashback for all your holiday shopping (and beyond). With over 4,000 stores, there’s bound to be stores you already shop at, so why not get paid to do something you are going to be doing anyways? It’s a no brainer!

First, you’ll need to sign up for an account. Click “Sign in” in the top right corner, then “Register for a new account”. It’s absolutely free to sign up (no credit card info needed), just fill in the information and you can get started shopping (and earning) at your favorite stores! Also make sure you select your country.

Once you’re inside, click “All Stores” to explore all the options at you finger tips! All the stores are listed alphabetically and it tells you how much cash back you will receive from each store (ranging from 2% to 55% cash back!). Once you find a store you want to shop at, click “Visit Store” and it will take you to the virtual store, so you are actually shopping through the store itself. As long as you are signed in through, you will receive the cash back.

Or you can choose a category like “Shoes” which will bring you to all the shoe options including women’s shoes, men’s shoes, athletic shoes, tending styles etc. They also have travel, beauty, hotels, pretty much everything you can imagine!

Holiday Gift Guides

I also love what they’ve done for the holidays! If you click on the “Holiday” tab up top, it will take you to a page where you can choose from curated gift guides like ‘Gifts for Her” “Gifts for Him” “Stocking Stuffers”, etc. They make it SO easy for you to find the perfect gift for anyone on your list. Plus, get paid to do it!

Shop Buddy

Another amazing feature they have is Shop Buddy. Once you download the Shop Buddy extension to your Chrome browser, you don’t even need to sign in to You can pop over to your favorite online store, and if they’re partnered with, Shop Buddy will pop up and let you know!

You will get a prompt to sign in (see below) and can start earning cash back right away! It will also tell you all the best deals going on around the site and give you allll the coupon codes! This way you don’t have to go searching on Google for codes that are most likely expired anyways.

Price Alerts

You can also create “Price Alerts” so you don’t have to keep checking back to see whether the item you want is on sale. Let’s say you’ve been lusting over this Kate Spade bag, but don’t want to spend $300. You can click on “price alert”, enter your email address, and if the price drops, you will be notified by email!

All these features make a must for your Christmas shopping! Oh, and did I mention, if you refer a customer to sign up through, you’ll make 1/2% of their cash back for the rest of time! If you know anyone who LOVES to online shop just as much as you, make sure to sign them up!

Why hit up hectic malls, fight for parking and get all done up, when you can throw on some sweatpants and shop your favorite stores from the comfort of your couch? And GET PAID to do it!

Ou girl! I have never heard of this, but I am totally checking it out. Get some extra money doing the shopping I’m already going to do? Yes please!

I think the only thing that prevents me from doing more online shopping is border fees. Shopping as a Canadian can be a pain, or perhaps I’m just not very good at it! haha

Thanks for sharing this, Kate! For suuuuure checking it out! 🙂

Andrea, exactly, it just makes so much sense!! I never have too many issues with border fees, but when they DO hit, they hit hard 🙁 But lots of the partner stores have free shipping to Canada which is awesome! Hope you sign up, I already have almost $100 cashback from shopping I was doing anyways over the past few months!

This sounds amazing! I seriously have no time (or energy) to get myself to the mall these days. I’m definitely looking into this this year. And I LOVE that holiday shopping guide idea. I have the most difficult time deciding on gifts for so many on my list! Love this. Thank you for sharing!
