About

Hi there, welcome to Layered Indulgence! I don’t know how you made your way to this little blog of mine, but I’m sure glad you’re here!

My name is Kate. I’m a twenty-something Torontonian who loves cafe-hopping, writing, and traveling the world one amazing city at a time. I’m planning-obsessed (literally can’t function without my day planner), and am a big time friends and family gal.

I started Layered Indulgence about four years ago cuddled up in my bed (because where else does one start a blog?) and it has evolved into a lifestyle destination covering style, travel, self-care, decor, social media and entrepreneurship.

I graduated from the Fashion Masters program at Ryerson University and realized my love for online journalism after interning at publications including FASHION Magazine and The Kit. It was at these places I learned how to write for the web, to navigate the world of WordPress, and that no, not every fashion internship parallels The Devil Wears Prada (although I’m sure some do).

When I’m not blogging, you can find me trying out new restaurants or recipes (I love to eat and totally get hangry if I don’t eat enough!), taking a hot yoga or spin class, or collaborating with like-minded bloggers and entrepreneurs!

Thanks for stopping by, feel free to stay a while!

I’ve always been interested in the politics of fashion too and of course the intersection of art, life and fashion. Great blog, keep it up :)http://voices-in-my-head.net/

Think I will follow…I just need to really start something. My blog has been kind of quiet as of late, IDK why. Life is just tough sometime and it gets to me. Me and the hus have a business blog http://elancreationspainter.com but that too has been quiet. All my chicks and ducks, aka my kiddos, have flown and I can’t believe I’m even saying this but I miss being a mom every day. Please don’t say I’m still a mom because it’s different and yes I don’t like it at all. But I must move forward so today I will try to do that. Blessings <3

Good luck with it all <3 I think a blog can be a great way to let your emotions out and act as a creative platform when you're feeling low. <3

I read your gluten free options article and it was helpful. Only one problem I’m gluten free because I was diagnosed with celiac disease. I’m not vegan, nor am I looking for health food which tenda to be my only option.

How about some gluten free places in Toronto which are ethnic(I saw the Thai place and will visit) or non vegan or some less healthy options.

If anyone knows a gluten free Korean place let me know. I miss Korean food.
