Happy hump day babes! Who else loves listening to podcasts? One of my favourites is ‘Style Your Mind’ by Cara Alwill Layba and she constantly talks about the importance of getting into a high vibration. After listening to her first talk about it, I realized just how important getting into a high vibration is for productivity and success. When you’re in a high vibration, you’re happy, your creative juices are flowing, you feel optimistic, you’re clear on your next step, your relationships are good and healthy, and everything feels right and aligned. Today, I want to talk about how to raise your vibration and elevate your every day!
Why It’s Important to Raise Your Vibration
Your vibration is pretty much your overall state of being. Getting into a high vibration is crucial if you are aiming for success. Whether that’s success with your health, job, relationships, or likely, all of the above, raising your vibration is key to getting you there. We’ve all had those days (or weeks, or even months) when we wake up on the wrong side of the bed and roll out of bed just feeling ‘meh’. This negative energy can define our whole being and if we get stuck here too long, we risk living our life in a low vibration.
When you’re in a low vibration, you feel stuck. You don’t have direction, your days are filled with negative setbacks rather than challenging opportunities, and you see everything as a struggle. You’re not happy, you’re not sure where you’re going and your relationships feel strained and heavy.
Here are 6 foolproof ways to raise your vibration and elevate your day!
1) Watch What You Tell Yourself
Be careful what you tell yourself on a daily basis. Every single one of your thoughts has an impact on you, so you want to make sure you keep them as positive as possible. We all create our own stories. Some people make themselves the victim. We all know that person who thinks the world is against them. Every word that comes out of their mouth is a complaint and everyone is against them! If you’re one of those people, you need to flip that around and change the story you tell yourself.
The more you think positive thoughts, the more your reality will be filled with positivity. This doesn’t mean you can never let a negative thought enter your mind (sh*t happens, and sometimes life seriously sucks), but work on looking on the bright side and changing your negative thoughts to positive ones. You’ll see what a difference it can make.
2) Be Conscious About What You Feed Your Mind
Feeding your mind with growth and personal development tips is also critical to raise your vibration. The books you read, the podcasts you listen to, the shows you watch, the people you talk to – they are all feeding your mind. Make sure your mind is well fed. If you have one of those friends that’s always negative and sucks the life out of you every time you hang out, take some time away from them.
Instead of reading or listening to fiction or things that don’t really serve you, try personal development books and podcasts that will help you grow in different areas in your life. You choose what you feed your mind, so this is completely in your control!
3) Assess Who You Hang Out With
“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with”. – Jim Rohn. Boy, is this true. We are greatly influenced by those closest to us. They affect the decisions we make, the actions we take (or don’t take), our self-esteem, and our way of thinking. If you’re hanging out with unmotivated people who slug around and don’t have goals, then you are like going to be an unmotivated person that slugs around and doesn’t have goals! LOW VIBES GALORE!
Find your tribe!! Find people that move you, that motivate you and push you forward, that challenge you to reach your goals and be a better person. Whether that means following your dream to become a self-made millionaire, losing that ten pounds you can’t seem to budge or writing that book you’ve always wanted to write, surround yourself with those you aim to be like or are moving in the same direction as you.
4) Get moving
Energy feeds off energy. If you’re sluggish and always sitting around like a couch potato, you’re likely going to have a low vibration. But if you get yourself moving through exercise or dancing or biking or anything really, it’s going to lift your mood and energy, and skyrocket your vibe! Even taking a walk around your neighbourhood can give you energy and inspiration.
5) Start Visualizing
Guys, visualization is gold. I used to dance competitively and this is where I learned the art of visualization. I was constantly visualizing my dances in my head before I went to sleep at night. I would run them over and over in my mind, which helped me remember them and also become better at them.
And now it has become something I do in the journey to reach my ideal lifestyle. There are different ways to do visualization. My favourite is creating a dream/goals board and every day looking at it and visualizing yourself within it. On my dream board, I have my dream living space, travels I want to take, a new rose gold lap top, my ideal home office, things like that! Create a board that encompasses YOUR dream life and imagine yourself living it every day.
6) Practice Gratitude
Something I’ve come to learn is that when you are grateful, you become so much more positive and fulfilled. First off, you’re focusing on what you have rather than on what you don’t which is extremely powerful. A lot of people get bogged down because they consistently think about what they don’t have rather than being grateful for what they do have. Whenever I feel a low vibration coming on, I sit down and look through my Five Minute Journal. Every morning I write down three things I’m grateful for in the journal and I constantly read them over to remind myself of all the amazing things and people I have in my life.
