I’ve been an entrepreneur for the past two years and one of the biggest things I’ve learned is that your business can’t run if you don’t. When you work for yourself, you’re fully accountable for making things happen, and if you’re tired, run down, or sick, your biz is probably going to take a hit. That’s why it’s so important to not only stay healthy, but also stay energized and productive. A great way to do that? Vitamins.

I’ve never been big into vitamins until recently. Anytime I took them I never really noticed a difference and wondered if they were worth taking. But a few months ago I was introduced to Isotonix vitamins and they changed my world. Maybe that sounds dramatic, but it’s true. I learned so much about vitamins and realized a lot of people don’t have a clue about what they’re putting in their bodies, so I thought I’d write a post about it!

When I learned what I’m about to share with you it made so much sense, but I don’t think a lot of people even stop to think about it. They’re told they need to take this vitamin or that vitamin, so they head to the drugstore, find a bottle (preferably on sale) and start taking them. That’s what I used to do too. When I heard B-Complex was supposed to boost your energy, I was SO excited to try it out, but lo and behold I didn’t notice a change. So I stopped taking it.

Do you know why? Most of the vitamins available to us (especially in-store) are in pill/tablet form. But when you take vitamins in tablet form, you’re hardly absorbing any of the vitamin at all. It takes about 2 to 3 hours to absorb into your system and you only get 20% to 30% of the vitamin(s) itself. Yeah, seriously. No wonder I never felt a difference. How could I when I was never really absorbing anything in the first place.

As a boss babe entrepreneur, it’s essential not only keep yourself healthy, but boost your energy and productivity. These are the best vitamins for women to take for energy, metabolism, and for hair and skin. From vitamin B-Complex with vitamin B12 to a multivitamin that has it all, click through to see all the benefits in the boss babe’s guide to vitamins.

Enter Isotonix (no, this is not a sponsored post, no one is paying me to write this, I am seriously just SO in love with this product). All the vitamins come in a powder form, which you mix with water and drink. PS. Every one I’ve tried is delicious! “Isotonic” means “same pressure”. In order for vitamins to be absorbed and metabolized to their fullest, they have to be delivered in an isotonic state.

With the Isotonix line, your body absorbs the vitamins and minerals in about 20-30 minutes and you absorb up to 95% of the vitamins. 95%!!! Compare that to 20% or 30% and it’s a no brainer. Plus, they’re all plant based and completely natural. Sure, they’re pricier than the ones you’ll find at the drugstore, but all I can say is, you get what you pay for.

Plus, if you sign up for a Shop.com account (it’s totally free!), you can get cash back for taking vitamins! What could be better than that? Just click Sign In > register for a new account. Here’s a tutorial to show you how it’s done!

I’ve noticed a huge change in my energy and mood from taking the vitamins I’ve listed below, and I couldn’t wait to share them with other boss babes like you! Here are 5 essential vitamins every boss babe should take!

1. Advanced B-Complex

If you tend to feel tired throughout the work day, Advanced B-Complex is just what you need. It’s great for your boosting energy throughout your busy day and has tons of other health benefits. It’s combined with B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 B7, Potassium, Magnesium, Folic Acid and B12 to convert the food you eat into fuel!

Every morning as soon as I wake up, I take my B-Complex and feel completely energized. Sometimes I even have to go to the gym because I have so much energy. You also won’t experience a crash like you do with coffee, so you might want to think about making the switch!

2. K2 with D3

If you’re prone to mood swings and find yourself feeling low, trying upping your vitamin D intake. Getting your vitamin D fix is super important, especially if you live in a place that doesn’t get much sunlight.

In January, we got only 4 days of sun in Toronto and I was definitely feeling it. I felt so down for most of the month and there’s no doubt it was due to the lack of sun. Unfortunately I hadn’t started taking the supplement yet, but since I have, I’ve noticed a huge difference and I really wish I had started taking it earlier. Since the sun is the main way for you to get vitamin D, it’s essential you take a vitamin D supplement on the daily.

And did you know vitamin D actually works best when paired it’s with vitamin K? I didn’t know this until a few weeks ago, so I think it’s important to point out. The two vitamins work together to support calcium absorption and utilization, so make sure they’re paired together.

3. Multivitamin

This is another vitamin I take every morning when I wake up. Combined with a handful vitamins, including E, D, C, B2, zinc, iron and more, this formula has it all! It boosts your immune system and is packed with antioxidants, and it also helps the body metabolize proteins, fats and carbs!

I refer to it as a health elixir – I haven’t gotten sick this entire winter while taking it, even when people with flus and colds were everywhere I turned. Plus, it gives me a nice boost of energy throughout the day!

4. Isotonix Vision with Lutein

I pretty much spend all day looking at a screen (whether it’s my lap top or phone) and I’m sure it’s the same for many of you. When I’m not wearing my glasses or contact lenses I can barely see anything, so it’s safe to say I have really poor eye sight and the screens are definitely not helping.

Isotonix Vision with Lutein supplement combines vitamins and minerals with lutein, quercetin, zeaxanthin and bilberry to help maintain eye sight and develop night vision. Visual health is so important and I know that my eye sight isn’t going to get any better if I don’t start doing something about it now. If you spend most of your days working on a screen, I urge you to do the same!

5. OPC-3 Beauty Blend

I had to throw this in here, because this product is magic! Blended with ingredients like vitamin C, biotin, and OPCs, this formula is packed with antioxidants. It promotes healthy skin elasticity, is anti-inflammatory, and replenishes and rejuvenates the skin. It helps maintain healthy hair and nails and promotes healthy blood flow and the healing of minor skin damage, plus so much more.

The OPC-3 formula has the highest level of antioxidants available on the market and it’s only available through the Isotonix line. Working from the inside out, you’ll look good and feel good with this AMAZING supplement!

  1. Wow, very interesting! I take gummy vitamins and definitely notice the difference from when I took pills. Wonder if absorption had something to do with it!

  2. Do you take these all at the same time or space them out? Seems like a lot!

I read another article you wrote about carb cycling and wonder if you recommend a protein powder in particular?
