When I started getting serious about blogging, my eyes were opened a whoooole world I didn’t even knew existed. The world of Facebook groups, and more specifically Facebook groups for bloggers and entrepreneurs. If you’re a blogger or business owner who is looking for another stream of encouragement and support, let me formally introduce you.
Why Facebook groups?
Facebook groups/communities are filled with like-minded girlbosses learning the ropes, motivating others, and answering questions we’re all wondering, from how to choose a catchy business name, to how to grow your blog with Pinterest, to the best recommendations for cameras and laptops. Whatever blog/biz question you have, you can be sure to get it answered in a Facebook group!
You can also celebrate your wins, promote your blog and social media accounts, and grow your community! It can be lonely and confusing as a business owner/blogger when none of your friends or family members really GET what you’re doing, so Facebook groups are a great way to find that support! I’m so lucky to have friends and family that support me 100% but it’s still awesome to have a place to go where people UNDERSTAND you 100% and are going through similar things.
Facebook groups are also a great way to grow your blog and social media followers. Most groups I’m part of have fixed promo days where you can share your latest blog/social media post, special offer, new product, etc. This is an awesome way to get new readers to your blog or new customers to your store! Just make sure you reciprocate the love!
My best advice is not to join TOO many groups. Find the ones you love most and stick to them! It can get really overwhelming trying to keep up with all of them, and if you thought Facebook was addicting before, you won’t know what hit you! Pick 5 you can commit to on a regular basis.
Here are my faves:
I’m going to start off with the group me and Tracey run, because I think the women in it are absolutely amazing! Everyone is so inspiring, helpful and encouraging! We have some ladies who are just starting out with their blogs/businesses and some who are more experienced, so it’s a great balance and the more experienced are ALWAYS there to lend a helping hand.
We created this community just a few short months ago and we already have almost 400 awesome girlbosses inside! We have a different theme for each day of the week, from Creative Monday where people share about their achievements for the past week and goals for the week ahead, to Tuesday Biz Promo, to Friday Sharing and Caring where people share anything they love from around the web!
We’re always looking to expand our community with encouraging bloggers and business owners, so if it sounds like your cup of team, click on over and request to join!
Krista Dickson is incredible and she has created a community of girlboss bloggers (with a side of woo) that I absolutely love being a part of. She is so engaged with the members, replying to questions and comments, doing Facebook Live videos, and encourage all the other bloggers.
She also has a different theme for each day of the week, so you can ask questions, share your social media accounts and celebrate your wins for the week!
I am so inspired my Emylee and Abagail it’s INSANE. Just like me and Tracey, they’re a match made in business partner heaven. Only a few lucky people are able to find what they have found, it just can’t be taught!
They are such positive forces, even though they have been through a HECK of a lot the past year. They are the epitome of hard work and are so engaged with everyone in the community. They also recently started an amazing podcast you guys have to listen to ASAP!
Kami and Alica are so great! I love engaging in this group because it’s more intimate. Don’t get me wrong, I love big groups because of the wealth of knowledge, but it’s way easier for your questions and promos to get lost in the sea of other bloggers and biz owners.
With smaller, more intimate groups, you get to know the members and their work better. They’re also more likely to engage with you because they see your name on a more regular basis!
Previously Blog + Bizz BFFs, Online Business BFFs is run my blogging/social media guru Melyssa Griffin. She was one of the first business bloggers I stumbled upon when I started really getting into researching blogging, and I fell head over heels!
She offers TONS of great advice and her group is filled with thousands of bloggers and biz owners who know their stuff! Everyone is so friendly and helpful and I have definitely learned a lot being part of this community!
