The holiday season is officially upon us, so I figured a simple yet glam holiday makeup look would be an ideal post to do for my lovely readers! I’ve never done a makeup look on my blog before, but my good friend and business partner, Tracey, is a makeup artist so we decided to do a collaboration for the holiday season! If you haven’t checked out her out yet, head over to Lipstick and Muffin Girl to see her amazing blog!

Tracey is also the mastermind behind this holday makeup look! As someone who is not super talented when it comes to creating makeup looks, what I love most about this is that it is easy enough for anyone to do (even me!), yet it looks gorgeous and sophisticated.

I have a bunch of holiday parties coming up, from a Christmas gala dinner to my family’s Christmas Eve party and I’m so excited to do this look for each one! I may add some extra sparkle for the Christmas gala or even a cat eye, but that’s what is so great about makeup- you can play with it and switch it up to suit your needs!

Here is my pre-makeup face. Apologies for my messy hair, I actually thought I was going to the gym the morning we did this, then we decided to get together to do some work for our blogs – duty calls!

She set my skin with Lumière de Vie Concentrating Serum, which made my skin firm and smooth. I could really see the difference between the serum and my daily moisturizer once she put my foundation on. About a month ago she created a customized foundation for me and this foundation is the BOMB! Depending on your skin type, you can customize it with oil control, more coverage, color correcting, really whatever your skin needs! I’ve been using it for about a month and it has even helped to clear up my skin, which is amazing.

She also used the Motives Color Correction Quad to combat redness as well as under eye circles.

Next was the brows! As you can see, my brow hair is naturally very light. I get them tinted before beach vacations where I’ll be in the water a lot, but for the day to day I use eye brow palettes to give me darker brows! For this look, Tracey used the Benefit “Gimme Brow” in Medium which you can grab online at Sephora, as well as the Motives Eyebrow Pencil in Medium.

We thought a golden eye would be perfect for the holidays, so she created this look with three different eye shadow hues and some gold shimmer. She set my eyelids with the Motives Eye Base (this is key for smoothing  the eyelid as well as bringing the pigment out of the eye shadow).

Then she used three Motives Eye Shadows: Vanilla, Pearl and Vintage Glam. One of the best tips she gave me is to make sure to use a blending brush when you put on your eye shadow. The key to a gorgeous eye look is blending colours to create the hue you want.

On my lips is one of my new favorite shades – “Scandolous” a matte lippy by Motives Cosmetics. As soon as Tracey put it on me I fell in love, and I have one shipping to my house as we speak! It’s the perfect colour for the winter season – the hue is so rich and the formula goes on creamy and dries to a perfect matte!

She finished off the look with mascara, bronzer and a highlighter. My favorite mascara right now is Maybelline Lash Blast (an amazing drugstore beauty find!) and I use the Motives Pressed Bronzer in “Miami Glow” which is what I am wearing for this look. Tracey completed the holiday look with the Movies Highlighter Shimmering Powder in Bombshell.

In just a few simple steps, you can get this glam holiday makeup look to rock at all of your holiday fêtes!
