The groundhogs have spoken, guys! And most of them predicted there’s going to be an early start to spring! I’m not at all surprised – this winter has been super mild. But still, reassurance from our furry forecasters is a nice relief (okay, who knows how accurate the groundhog shadow trick actually is, but let’s go with it).
This warm and wonderful news has sent my mind adrift to fresh, spring recipes and lightweight dresses. Not to mention refreshing cocktails and dewy beauty products (dry skin be gone!).
From a fresh smoothie bowl to a super hydrating facial mist, take a look at 7 ways to celebrate an early start to spring!
1. Spicy shrimp bow tie pasta
I’m SUCH a sucker for pasta. Seriously, I think I could eat it everyday. My favourites are those tossed with lots of veggies, a light sauce, and loaded with parmesan! This shrimp bow tie pasta is fresh, healthy, and has a nice kick! It’s perfect for welcoming the start of spring.
2. Rose oil mist
Spring calls for fresh, dewy skin, and facial mists are all the rage right now. They hydrate your skin, set makeup, and balance out your complexion! Jurlique’s balancing mist is formulated with rose oil, aloe, and grapefruit seed extract to feed your skin antioxidants. Spray it on throughout the day for a refreshing pick-me-up.
3. Sports bra
A spring-inspired fitness regime is reason enough for some new active wear, right? I’m loving the bright colour and strappy detail of this Lulu Lemon sports bra.
4. Strawberry chia seed smoothie bowl
I’ve definitely been slacking on my smoothie game this winter, but when it’s cold out I much prefer warm drinks. As soon spring rolls around, I know I’ll be making smoothies and smoothie bowls all. the. time. This recipe is one of my favourites – strawberries, raspberries, mangos, chia seeds, vanilla protein powder, and more!
5. Boho off-the-shoulder dress
Skirts and dresses will soon be making their way back into our weekly outfit cycles, and I cannot wait! Off-the-shoulder pieces are going to be big this season and I love the boho vibe of this dress. It’s lightweight, effortless, and can be thrown on to go to a last-minute brunch, or accessorized for an outdoor music festival.
6. Champagne grapefruit mojito
7. Soft pink lipstick
It’s time to trade in our deep lipstick hues for something softer and fresher. Skivvies by Lips by Danilea is just what I’m talking about! The nude pink colour is subtle yet crisp, and all their lippies are infused with vitamin E to keep your lips extra hydrated!
