I’m a sucker for dressing up, and I wear jeans on the (almost) daily, but there’s something to be a said for a good athleisure outfit – one that’s highly comfortable, but looks effortlessly cool. Sneakers, sports bras, and leggings may be intended for the gym, but there’s no denying that when paired properly, and coupled with the right accessories, the sweat-free gym look is chic AF.

If you’re unfamiliar with the fashion term, athleisure clothing is athletic leisure wear meant to be worn outside the gym. You can totally wear it to your fitness classes too, but it’s become increasingly acceptable (and stylish) to wear activewear on the reg. Many people are embracing healthier lifestyles and they want their clothing to be comfortable and functional too. The trend even has the nod of approval from the high fashion world, with Chanel couture sneakers walking down the runway, and sites like Net-a-Sporter offering a wide array of luxe sportswear.

While I wouldn’t rock these gym-inspired looks to a business meeting, they’re awesome for running errands and brunching with friends. Check out 3 ways to rock athleisure below!

1. A tee and leggings are probably the most comfortable pieces you can wear. The Adidas logo and side band print give these ones extra style. Step into some quilted slip-ons, grab a brightly hued clutch, and throw your hair up into a scrunchie to complete the look. A moto jacket or duster coat would work well with this ensemble too. And I LOVE this blue nail colour.

2. Leather backpacks are my jam. I just bought this deep burgundy one from Danier and I’m truly obsessed. This black one is really nice too, and a floral sports bra peaking through a tank is fun yet put together. I also own these Adidas sneaks and they’re soooo comfy – perfect if you’re going to be on your feet all day.

3. The lacy elements on this black sweater are a cool way to add some detail to an athleisure getup. And this blue bucket bag offers a nice pop of colour. I’m also loving dainty knuckle rings right now, and this cat ear one is awfully cute.
